Raymond (Ray) Ault was born on the 27th of May 1964 in Sullivan, Indiana to C. Henry Ault and Virginia (Tune) Ault. He passed away on July 29, 2023 at the age of 59, following complications from bypass surgery.
Ray was the youngest of his siblings and for his entire life was cherished by those who loved him. The majority of his life was spent in the Crawford County area, growing up in Robinson and Palestine. He could often be seen around Robinson in his Iron Maiden jean jacket. There were very few things in life Ray appreciated more than good friends, good music and good beverages and he was happy to spend time around any of these. Ray was often described as "One-Of-A-Kind" and he was proud to be so unique.
Although Ray was employed at numerous locations throughout his life, he spent quite a bit of time at home during his earlier years. This afforded him the ability to spend time with friends, family and music, his favorite parts of life. He was also able to work a variety of jobs at different companies and locations. One of the more important jobs Ray worked was at Roadmaster in Olney, Illinois beginning in 1992. Here, he would meet his former wife, LaVonna McKinney, and they would marry on February 29, 1996. He stayed on at Roadmaster until their closure in the early 2000s. Ray's working life ultimately culminated in his recent employment at the Hershey Company, working overnight/early mornings in the factory. He also enjoyed the opportunity to serve as a private tattoo artist, working out of the comfort of his home.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents and older sister, Debbie. He is survived by his daughter, Ashlynne (Bobby) McCorkle; his grandchildren, Ernie Holland and Hayden McCorkle; his older sister Faith (Chuck) Littlejohn, nephews Charlie and Chad (Ryann) Littlejohn and Jeramie (Connie) Ault; and nieces Ciara (Steven) Smith and Jennifer (Jay) Empie, as well as 6 great nephews, 6 great nieces, and 2 great-great nieces.
The family would like to follow Ray's wishes of cremation by Goodwine Funeral Home, no viewing, and a private, at-home celebration of life. Memorial contributions may be made to his memorial fund, with checks made payable to "Goodwine Funeral Homes".
