Raymond Bacchiocchi Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hessling Funeral Home, Inc. on Sep. 23, 2025.
Raymond (Ray) Gene Bacchiocchi passed away, surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday September 20 th. He was born October 13 th in New Haven Connecticut to Joseph and Mary (Sorrchiotti) Bacchiocchi. He was the youngest of three sons. The family resided in West Haven Connecticut where Raymond attended school. Raymond was a devoted son and brother. He was also notoriously not afraid of anything or anyone. He had a lot of friends growing up and always marched to the beat of his own drum. Raymond met the love of his life, Patricia (Patty Quinn) while both worked at Project Enough in New Haven. Patty loved how fearless Raymond was and he loved how sweet and beautiful she was. The two married on October 18 th 1974. They welcomed three children into their marriage and decided it would be best to move their young family to the country. The pair ended up building a home in Shohola PA, a place where Patty's family had a summer cabin. He loved Shohola and worked tirelessly to maintain their beautiful property and manicured lawn. Raymond was employed by Yellow Freight as a truck driver and yard jockey until he retired in 2003. What Raymond found the biggest joy in, was his grandchildren. He had the utmost love for and total delight in helping raise them. He was what his family called "the baby whisperer". The once tough guy was softened by each of one of his precious 7 grandchildren. Raymond was known as the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back. He was the first one there in anyone's time of need. His family meant to world to him. He loved deeply and lived passionately. He was never afraid of telling you the truth and how much he loved you. His and Patty's recent move to Peckville brought him new joys in being close to his grandchildren, taking care of his inground pool for his grandkids to swim in, meeting and chatting with his new neighbors and riding his E-Bike, something he would gladly tell everyone about if you asked him.

His passing leaves a huge hole in all our hearts.

Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Patricia of Peckville PA, his brother Joseph and his wife Elaine of West Haven Connecticut, his son James Bacchiocchi of Blakely PA, his daughter Emily Grillo-Walsh and her husband Mike Walsh of Beach Lake PA and son Jesse and daughter in law, Nichole Bacchiocchi of Peckville PA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Nathaniel and Leahnora Grillo, Annabell Bacchiocchi, Olivia, Collin, Brooke and Brody Bacchiocchi. He is also survived by his special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws.
