Raymond Barowsky Obituary
Died: December 9, 2022
Raymond B. Barowsky, age 84, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022 at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox.
Ray is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Lillian (nee Zimmerman) Barowsky; children Suzanne (Bump) Waghorne, Matt (Karen) Barowsky; grandchildren, Sierra and Savanna Waghorne, Tabitha, Natasha, and Denver Barowsky; brother-in-law, George (Grace) Zimmerman; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents Walter and Mary Barowsky; and his brother Wilfred (Joanne) Barowsky.
Ray worked for 38 years as a construction manager for Commonwealth Edison. He was a fifty-year resident of New Lenox and a parish member of Saint Jude. He was extremely proud of his '57 Chevy 210, and his '57 Chevy Nomad, and a dear friend of the Tri-Chevy members. He loved traveling and in his spare time enjoyed spending time in his yard.
Services for Ray will begin on Friday, December 16, 2022 with a visitation from 3-8:30pm at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road in New Lenox. Services will continue the following day with a visitation at the funeral home from 9am until the time of Chapel Prayers at 10:15am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church, 241 W. 2nd St. in New Lenox at 11am. Ray will be laid to rest at Maplewood Cemetery
