Raymond Bart Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Gary Deiters Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. - East Peoria on Aug. 24, 2023.
Raymond "Ray" Bart, 60, of East Peoria, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at his home, surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Peoria on January 17, 1963, to Raymond S. and Carol (Lauber) Bart. He devoted 40 faithful years of unconditional love to his wife, Tammy (Sauder); she survives.
Also surviving are his children, Chris (Mallory Carroll) Bart of East Peoria, Sarah (Corey) Johnson of Pekin, and Bryan (Katherine) Bart of Spring Bay; his sisters, Toni (Mark) Egan of East Peoria and Edythe Gluck of Henry; two half-sisters; 4 grandchildren, Kayden, Raleigh, Hendrix, and Goldi; special in-laws, Jim (Teri) Jannke & Tommy Sauder; Jimmy Shilling, the uncle he held in the highest regard; a great grandbaby on the way; several nieces and nephews; and numerous treasured friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Stanley; and one half-brother.
Ray was a well-respected machinist at Caterpillar for 18 years. He was a renowned, left-handed bowler with multiple 300 games and 800 series. One of his proudest achievements was being inducted into the Peoria Area Bowling Hall of Fame in 2012.
He dedicated his life to his family as a supportive dad and papa and strived to be at every event. He had a very strong work ethic that will inherently live on through his children. He loved fishing, camping and the Chicago Cubs. He had a passion for cooking and an eclectic taste in music that he loved sharing with friends and family. He was a good man and will be deeply missed!
The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at Gary Deiters Funeral Home & Cremation Services in East Peoria, with a Funeral Service beginning at 3 p.m.
