BEUTHIN, Raymond John Jr. – of Birch Run, age 94, died Sunday, June 18, 2023 at Birch Run Fields Assisted Living. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 22, 2023 at O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Michigan. Pastor Dan Shinabarger officiating. Burial in Cook Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Charity of Choice.
Raymond was born February 18, 1929 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Raymond and Lillian (Miller) Beuthin Sr. He grew up in Saginaw, Michigan and graduated from Saginaw High School with the class of 1947. Raymond went on to Eastern Michigan University where he received his Master's Degree. He proudly served in the Michigan National Guard for several years. On June 3, 1950 he married Thea Bateson in Perrysburg, Ohio and she preceded him in death on May 19, 2017. Prior to his retirement, Raymond served as a Pastor in the Free Methodist Church in the Eastern Conference at several churches. Raymond then became a Teacher for 27 years in the Bridgeport Public Schools where he taught Sociology and Psychology. He enjoyed fishing, remodeling homes and cabins, and planting fruit trees. However, his greatest joy in life was his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving are: Children, Timothy (Debbie) Beuthin, Dawn (Bob) Krupka, Todd (Belynda) Beuthin; Grandchildren, Ryan (Janie) Beuthin, Justin (Alyssa) Beuthin, Luke (Amie) Beuthin, Mandy (Brad) Johnson; 13 Great Grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents; Wife, Thea Beuthin; Siblings, Charles "Mike" Beuthin, Dorothy Huff.
