Janet May Beuthin, age 90, of Green Lake, WI, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.
Janet was born on May 16, 1933, daughter of LeRoy and Jessie (Parker) Schattchneider in Green Lake, WI. She graduated from Green Lake High School then went on to get a degree in Kindergarten Primary. Janet taught school in Neenah and Ripon, and was a substitute teacher at Green Lake schools for many years. She later worked at Heidel House in the housekeeping department. Janet married Darwin Beuthin on June 16, 1956 at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon, WI.
Janet volunteered with Girl Scouts for many years, taught Sunday school, volunteered at the Dartford Historical Society, and was a member of the Green Lake American Legion for 50 years. She loved to read, do crossword puzzles, play Tetris, and study genealogy of the three pioneer families of Green Lake.
Survivors include her children, Debra Moats, Donald Beuthin, Mary (Jeff) Moyle; grandchildren, Ben, Michelle, Sam, Tori, Logan, and Justin; several great-grandchildren; in-laws, Dennis (Jill) Beuthin, Larry Beuthin, Corky (Peggy) Beuthin, Betty (David) Kuen, Peggy Beuthin; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Jessie Schattchneider; husband, Darwin Beuthin; children, Barbara Beuthin and Kenneth Beuthin; brothers-in-law, Louie (Ruth) Beuthin, Ervin (Joan) Beuthin, Gib (Doris) Beuthin, Vern (Carol) Beuthin, and Dave Beuthin; sister-in-law, Beth Beuthin.
A visitation for Janet will take place from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at The Federated Church of Green lake, 489 Scott St, Green Lake, WI 5494.
Memorial Service for Janet will follow the visitation at 11:00 am Saturday, April 20, 2024 at The Federated Church of Green Lake, with Pastor Neil Wilson officiating. Inurnment will follow at Dartford Cemetery in Green Lake, WI. Memorials for Janet can be made to Dartford Historical Society, 501 Mill St., American Legion Auxiliary, PO Box 448 or Caestecker Library, 518 Hill St., all in Green Lake, WI.
