Raymond Buchignani Obituary

RAYMOND EUGENE BUCHIGNANI
APRIL 19, 1944 - JANUARY 28, 2025
Raymond Eugene Buchignani, 80 years young. All his friends and associates knew him as Ray, but most everyone under 40 knew him as Papa.
Ray was born April 19, 1944, to Reno Buchignani and Annie Gelatini at his family's ranch in Healdsburg CA, and left us on January 28, 2025, at 5:05 am at his home in Healdsburg, CA, surrounded by his family.
Ray lived at the ranch in Dry Creek and attended school in Geyserville CA. Ray bought his home on Badger St in the 60's, where he raised his family. His home hosted many events throughout his life, and everyone was always welcomed. His yards were alive with the most beautiful flowers year-round. Ray had an amazing ability to grow anything, and his flowers were a source of pride for him.
Ray was always on the go. He worked for Hewlett Packard for decades and then Agilent when he "retired". But he never actually retired. He worked many different places just to always be busy and out meeting new people. His last job he worked at up until around October last year was at Ace Hardware on Mission in Santa Rosa. A couple of his nurses recognized him from there.
Ray LOVED Elvis Presley!! For his 75th birthday celebration his children threw him a surprise Elvis party that included "Elvis" coming to serenade and give him a ride in his Pink Cadillac. That was the best time that he boasted about often.
Ray loved to dance! He danced as often as he could get out to in his younger days and danced around his house to his massive record collection just as often. On his last awake day, he "danced" with his daughter in law and the smile that it brought him is a memory that will be cherished.
Ray could always be found at one of his kids, grandkids and great grandkids sporting events, whether it be football, basketball, softball, volleyball or cheer. Ray himself played basketball for Geyserville school system, where his daughter joked that he was once the tallest on his team.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents Reno and Annie Buchignani, his sister Rena Small and his grandson Anthony Barnes.
Ray is survived by his son, Kevin Buchignani (Michelle), daughter Tammie Buchignani, grand children Brittney Hayes (Matt), Caleigh Buchignani, Shasta Pritchard, Lacey Lopez (Jesus), and great grandchildren, Colton and Harper Hayes, Maci Wilkinson, and Felix and Ricky Lopez, as well as many loved nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.
Dad will be missed by all that knew and loved him. All are welcome to join us in his services:

Altho we worked different shifts at HP Ray was a
humble worker who took his work seriously and I admired this.
He felt like a kind soul and it was fine to drop by and see him in later years at the hardware store in Santa Rosa.
I appreciated your kindness Ray.

So sad, Ray will truly be missed by all that knew him. I always remember the great parties at his house along with his love for his gardening. Jeanette will remember him as the best cousin/brother ever and is saddened she couldn“t make it there to visit one last visit. Raymond, you were always fun and full of life. We will always love you.
