Raymond Charles Obituary
Raymond leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and generosity that will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. He lived his life with kindness, devotion, and a quiet but powerful presence that made everyone around him feel supported and cared for.
A man of both physical and inner strength, he had a deep passion for boxing and weight lifting, interests that reflected his determination, discipline, and resilience. He found joy in restoring old trucks, breathing new life into what others thought was beyond repair, much like the way he offered hope and help to anyone who needed it.
Above all, he was loving, steadfast in his devotion to his family and friends. His gentle nature, warm heart, and unwavering loyalty will be remembered forever by those fortunate enough to have been part of his life.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Della Charles; children, David Charles and Lisa Rodriguez and husband Eddie; grandchildren, Lauren Navarre and husband Bill, Natalie Smith, Kenneth Edwards and wife Jenna, Amber Edwards, and Matthew Charles; great grandchildren, Josie Permenter, Brie Thibodeaux, Kori Navarre, Brynn Ponfick, and Jonathon Edwards.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mason and Virgie Charles.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a reciting of Rosary at 6:00 p.m., Monday, December 15, 2025, at Dorman - Riley Smith and Sons Funeral Home, 8808 Highway 87 North Orange, Texas. Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 4300 Meeks Drive Orange, Texas. Father Sinclair Oubre will be officiating. Rite of committal will be immediately follow at St Mary Catholic Cemetery, Orange, Texas.
