Ray Davena, lifelong Benicia resident, passed away peacefully on September 16th after a brief decline. He was beloved by his sister Jean and his brother Kenneth (Teri), and was predeceased by his brother William, his sister Judy, and his brother-in-law Robert DeVault. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews Rosemary (Taral), Linda (Reed), Robert (Mary), Rodger (Leticia), Brett (Jennifer) and Blake. He was a special great uncle to seventeen grand-nieces and grand-nephews and an extended family who all knew him as Uncle Ray. He had a long career in customer service with PacBell / AT&T. Ray rooted heartily for local teams including the Seals, the Bay City Bombers and especially the Giants, and he loved to play the ponies at local tracks and fairs. He savored the seafood at classic restaurants including Spenger's, Scoma's and Sailor Jack's, and he loved the fare at China Barn. As he wished, there will be a small family gathering to celebrate Ray's love, laughter and kind spirit.
