Donald Paul Borges

Donald Paul Borges, a lifelong resident of the Vallejo–Benicia area, passed away peacefully at his home on Lake Herman Road in Benicia on September 26, 2025, after a long illness. He was 69 years old.

Donald was born on November 29, 1955, in Vallejo, California. He graduated from Vallejo High School with the Class of 1973. He went on to work as a pipe fitter and welder for more than 25 years and was a proud member of Local 342 of the Pipe Fitters Union. His career included years working out of Mare Island as well as traveling for jobs throughout Oregon and Washington.

A devoted Raiders fan, Donald also enjoyed riding his Harley and, in later years, found great joy in working on the family ranch. He especially loved operating the equipment and tending to projects around the property. He was also a proud member of the SCDES Society of Vallejo and cherished his hiking trips thru Yosemite National Park.

Donald is survived by his sisters, Noreen Buller and Kerry Borges (Mark Thompson); his brother, Manuel Thomas Borges Jr. (Martha); his grandchildren, Devin and Kaylan Bishop and his longtime partner Dru Herren. Don was preceded in death by his brother Kenneth Borges. He will be remembered with love by his extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Passalacqua Funeral Chapel on Monday, October 6, 2025, beginning at 12:00 p.m., followed by a vigil service at 5:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at St. Basil's Catholic Church, 1200 Tuolumne Street, Vallejo. Burial will follow at St. Vincent's Cemetery in Vallejo.
