Raymond Downing Obituary

Raymond Gene Downing, age 61, resident of Mansfield, Ohio, died Friday, August 8, 2025, at his residence. He was born October 22, 1963, in Norwalk, Ohio, to Clifford Heald and Charma "Nikki" (Sickel) Heald-Downing.

Ray graduated from Shelby High School in 1984. He was a kind-hearted and caring person who loved his family deeply and always wanted the best for his friends and loved ones. He was passionate about Ohio sports, especially, the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Guardians, and of course, THE Ohio State Buckeyes.

He is survived by his brothers, Daniel (Karen) Downing of Cambridge, Ohio, Theon (Patty) Downing of Shelby, Dean (Angela) Downing of Ashland, Ohio, and Barry (Kristen) Downing of Avon Lake, Ohio; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Clark and Nikki Downing, he was proceeded in death by his infant brother, Michael Downing and biological father, Clifford Gene Heald.

Per Raymond's wishes, services will not be observed.

Donations in his memory can be made to the Humane Society of Richland County at 3025 Park Ave W, Mansfield, OH 44906.
