Raymond Martin "Doc" Evans, age 94, of Bond Street in Marion, NC passed away Saturday, February 21, 2026 at his home.
Born on July 16, 1931 in McDowell County, he was the son of the late Samuel L. and Ollie E. Gibson Evans. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mozelle Evans who passed away in 2011. Also preceding him in death were his brothers; Alan and Doyle and his sisters; Pearl, Gladys, Betty and Jeannie.
Doc was of the Baptist faith and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired from Thermador where he served as National Service Manager. He was full of life and truly loved his family. He was known to be helpful and could fix anything and was willing to help anyone that needed his expertise. He enjoyed being outdoors, hiking, fishing, and NASCAR racing.
Left to cherish his memories are his sons; Marty Evans and wife, Denise, Alan Evans, and Ricky Evans, his daughter; Kim Evans, his brother; Jerry Evans and wife, Gayle, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
In accordance with his wishes, no services are planned at this time.
Mr. Evans arrangements have been entrusted to Beam Funeral Service, Marion, NC.
