Raymond Fletcher Obituary

MSGT Raymond L. Fletcher, USAF, Retired, passed away at home on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at the age of 79. He had been a Peninsula resident for 46 years. Ray proudly served in the USAF for 20 years and did two tours in Vietnam.
Ray became a Mason at the Spessart 875 Lodge in Germany. He was a member of the Hampton Elks No. 366 where he had the honor of being an Exalted Ruler. He was also a member of Shriners, American Legion Post 1596 Harpersville, NY and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3529 in Afton, NY.
Ray was a very caring and loving person. He would do anything for anybody. He loved his cars, his 1949 John Deere tractor, his cat, Tripower, but most of all his wife of 46 years, Willa. Ray will be greatly missed by Willa, his family, friends and neighbors.
Ray is survived by his wife, Willa; son, James; daughter, Brenda; several grandchildren; his dear cousin, Al Cower and other family members in Nineveh, NY.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at the Newport News Elks Club 315.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Peninsula SPCA or the American Lung Association. Arrangements by Weymouth Funeral Home.
