Raymond Peter Gartner, 97, of Green Bay, passed away on July 29, 2023 at Bellin Health Hospital. He was born on July 18, 1926 to George and Barbara (Loran) Gartner in North Dakota. He proudly served our country in the Air Force, stationed in Japan between 1946-1947. On January 2, 1981, he married to Eva Belle (Gulbertson) Johnson. Ray worked as a fire safety personnel for Van's Fire and Safety, retiring in 1991. He was a member of St. Willebrord Catholic Parish. Since retiring, Ray was the Go-To guy in the neighborhood, for lawns, repairs, and helping to run errands. Eva and Ray loved to travel, whether they were flying or driving there was always a site to see and an adventure to go on.
Ray is survived by his loving wife, Eva of 42 years, one daughter, Cindy Person, one son, Robert Gartner; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons: Randy and Gary Gartner.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 11, 2023, from 9:30 am until 10:30 am at St. Willebrord Parish, 209 S Adams Street, and Mass to follow at 10:30 am with Father Andy Cribben, O. Praem officiating. Military Honors to follow the service.

Andrea and I have fond memories of Uncle Ray. He was always a happy guy. Andrea always s enjoyed talking to him. We just wish we could have visited him these last few years. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. Hugs from the Peterson girls, Andrea and Karen.
