Raymond Edward "Ray" Heiple Jr., age 78, of Jerome, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024, at his home. He was born on July 23, 1946, in Detroit to Raymond and Mary (Smith) Heiple Sr. He married Karen Napiantek on August 18, 1976, and she preceded him in death on July 11, 2021.
Ray graduated from Southgate High School in 1964 and went on to become a Journeyman ironworker for many years working many different jobs. Ray was a man of many different interests and consumed his free time with hobbies like playing guitar, reading, and adding to various collections of his. He enjoyed attending jazz and car shows and going to local microbreweries. Ray loved fishing, listening to music, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will miss him and his stories.
Ray is survived by two daughters, Kelly Wisneski of Hillsdale, and Shelly Ann (Joe) Hodson of Monroe; four grandchildren, Karryn (Austin) Billington, Timothy Wisneski, Joseph Hodson, and Elizabeth (Andrew) Kurpis; four great-grandchildren, Kyler, Korbin, Ashton, and Aubrie Billington; and one brother, Eugene Heiple.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 45 years, Karen; two great-granddaughters, Audra, and Alyssia; and one brother, Andrew Heiple.
There will be no services at this time for Ray Heiple. Arrangements have been entrusted to the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

I enjoyed being around Raymond, young as I was being a 17 year old cousin to him through our father's being brothers. Just spending time hanging ot at Eugene's place. Great time.
