Raymond Hidalgo Jr., age 69, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 8, 2025, in Roswell, NM. Raymond was born on June 29, 1955, to Raymond Hidalgo Sr. and Matilde Trujillo Hidalgo in Roswell, NM.
Raymond met the love of his life, Patricia (Patty) Garcia, during his teenage years. Raymond played football at Goddard High School and received a scholarship to a school in Ranger, Texas before graduating in 1974. Raymond returned home from Ranger, Texas to be with Patty and soon after, Raymond married his best friend. After that, Raymond spent many years as a youth coach, focusing on football and girls’ softball. Raymond started working at a young age with his first job at Glover’s Meat Packing. He then went to work at TMC, Nova Bus, as well as Millennium as a handling supervisor.
Raymond and his beloved wife, Patty, spent 41 wonderful years married before her passing in 2017. Raymond was a hardworking husband and father to his family. He was reliable, generous, kind, and selfless, spending most of his life providing for his family. Raymond worked for the bus manufacturer until their closing, where he then worked for Samons Supply and Home Depot, before his retirement in 2019.
Raymond spent every day after Patty passing mourning her absence. He often spoke about her, and the day that they would be reunited. Raymond enjoyed many pleasures in life such as camping, working in his yard, going to the casinos, and his dog who was also his best friend, Buddy.
Raymond will be remembered for his unconditional love, his ability to work hard, and his wonderful personality. Through the many lessons learned from Raymond, his family will always hold him dear to their heart.
Raymond is survived by his daughter, Carolee Michelle Hidalgo of Roswell, NM; Sisters Antonia Anaya, Adela Hidalgo, and Lynn Hidalgo all of Roswell, NM; Brother in-laws Leroy Garcia, Jerry Garcia and wife Rosa Garcia, as well as Rudy Garcia and wife Crystal Garcia all of Roswell, NM.
Services are entrusted with Ballard Funeral Home in Roswell, NM.
A memorial service will be held to honor the life of Raymond on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 10:00am, at Ballard Funeral Home in Roswell, NM.
