Raymond Joyner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cornell Memorial Funeral Home on Jan. 6, 2026.
Raymond F. Joyner Jr., 84, of Coram, NY, husband of the late Jane Joyner, passed away on January 1, 2026 surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Rocky Mount, NC, he was the son to the late Myrtle (Williams) and Raymond F. Joyner Sr.
Ray earned his bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and worked as an electrical engineer at BAE Systems for over 40 years before he retired. When Ray became a grandpa he discovered a new enthusiasm for life becoming more adventurous than he had in years. He was also a virtual babysitter reading over the computer, looked forward to weekly family FaceTimes, and indulged his daughters' wishes to recreate magic from their childhood for the grandkids during family vacations.
Raymond is survived by his children, Marnie Joyner (Randy Lustig), and Jill Joyner (A.J Acevedo), his grandchildren, Aveline Lustig, Bram Lustig, and Sierra Joyner. He also leaves behind his sisters Joyce and Ronace along with many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 26 years, Jane; his siblings, Hyacinth, Daylon, and Delmore.
The family will receive friends at Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Avenue, Bethel, CT on Sunday, January 25th from 3 to 5 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Danbury Regional Hospice.
