Raymond Kenkel, age 60, of Elgin, IL, passed away on January 21, 2025. He was born December 2, 1964 in St. Louis, MO to his loving parents, Barry and Bonnie (née Brueske) Kenkel.
Ray was a Jack-of-all-trades, and hardworking. He worked for Royal Waterbeds, Transworld Airlines, and Home Depot, and also owned Ray's Lawn Care. He was very good with his hands, and could fix anything!
Ray had a great sense of humor, and the gift of gab. He liked watching movies (mostly scary/horror, science fiction, and comedy), and was also a true audiophile, complete with a wicked stereo system. He enjoyed the outdoors, whether just riding his bike, or camping and stargazing. And he enjoyed model trains.
Ray was preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie Brueske; and grandmother, Sylvia V. Allen. He is survived by his daughter, Kristi Nicole Kenkel; father, Barry Kenkel; sister, Rochelle Cummings; and nephews, John Cummings and Alex (Stephanie) Cummings.
Visitation will be 5:00pm to 9:00pm, with funeral service at 7:30pm, Friday, January 31, 2025, at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120. Rev. Bruce Ludeke will be officiating.
To access the funeral service remotely, loved ones are encouraged to log on via Zoom (Meeting ID: 822 9202 0802, Password: 560198).
Interment will be private.
