Life time resident of Delta Co, Raymond J. Knob passed away at his home on April 1, 2025 with his wife at his side. Ray was born November 22, 1936 in Montrose, Co to Jake and Monica (Heili) Knob. He graduated from Delta High School in 1955. As a young man he worked for Hulteens Orchard on Antelope Hill. He then went to work for the Holly Sugar Factory here in Delta, for the campaign in the fall and traveled to Brawley, Ca. in the spring for their campaign. He worked for Holly Sugar until they closed their doors in 1977. Ray was a Military Veteran, drafted into the Army. Served at Fort Lewis for 2 yrs. Ray then started working on the farm for different farmers and ended up working for his cousin for 25 yrs. He loved working in his yard and helping Miletta with the garden., and the big Knob family dinners that Miletta had. Ray married his country sweetheart Miletta Distel in 1963. From this union was born Ray Jr, Alan, Loretta, and Dale. He was a big fan of the Delta High School Sports, and of course the Denver Bronco. Ray is survived by his wife Miletta of 62 yrs of marriage; children Ray (Connie) Knob, Alan Knob, Loretta (Wayne) Burton, Dale Knob. Grandchildren Brittney, Travis, Christie, Mathew, Dylan, and Morgan, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Ray was preceded in death by his parents Jake and Monica Knob; brothers Victor Knob, Jake Knob, Robert Knob; sister Mary Springer; and daughter in law Brenda Knob. A memorial Service is scheduled on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church-1290 A Street, Delta. Inurnment will follow at Delta City Cemetery.
