Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home - GladwinRaymond Henry Martin, age 89, of Beaverton, Michigan, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on September 18, 1935. Raymond worked in the Plastics and Thermoforming Industry for over 30 years.
Born and raised in Michigan, Ray lived a full and passionate life defined by devotion—to his family, his community, and the roar of an engine. A lifelong resident of Beaverton, Ray was known for his warm heart, quick wit, and unwavering loyalty to the things he loved.
Ray spent many years drag racing, a passion he proudly passed down to his family. Whether behind the wheel or cheering from the sidelines, Ray’s love for the sport was infectious. He was also a dedicated fan of NASCAR, the Detroit Tigers, and the Detroit Lions—never wavering in his support, even during the toughest seasons.
Above all, Ray cherished his family. He found his greatest joy in being surrounded by those he loved, sharing stories, laughter, and the simple pleasures of life. He is survived by his beloved wife, Judy Martin; his daughter, Deb (Rick) Tipton; his sons, Jim (Renee) and Dennis (Robin) Martin; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry his legacy forward. Ray was preceded in death by his sister, Ann; and his parents, Raymond and Harriet; whose memories he held close throughout his life.
Ray’s presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit lives on in the racetrack echoes, the crack of a bat, the Sunday games, and the hearts of all who knew him.
A memorial celebration will take place on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 12:00 noon at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home in Beaverton. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service.
