Raymond C. Novarro died on October 4, 2005, at the age of 78 in the Chicago home he shared with his cherished wife, Sandy, to whom he was selflessly devoted during their 50 years together. A veteran who honorably served in the Army during the Vietnam War, he loved trains (real and model), baseball (especially his grandson's teams), his many dogs over the years and his extended family. Even if Ray hadn't seen or talked to you for a while, he cared deeply, and everyone who knew him is fortunate that he was in their lives.

Ray is also survived by his son, Matt Hickey (Holly); grandson Luke Hickey; in-laws Bob and Dawn Geras; nieces Sheila Kairis, Tracy Laurinas (Steve), Kristina Quarterman (Brian), Cindy Geras and Laura Geras; nephews David Geras (Miki) and Michael Greer (Bruce Berry); and many grandnieces and grandnephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Vincent Novarro; his mother, Stella Wilson; and his sister, Gloria Novarro.

In accordance with Ray's wishes, there will be no memorial service. In lieu of flowers, please donate to an animal rights charity or shelter of your choice in his memory.
