Raymond "Abby" Ogle

Raymond "Abby" W. Ogle Jr., 74 yrs old, left on September 4, 2024 and moved from this world to Heaven where he was greeted by all his relatives who left before him.
Abby was born to Raymond Ogle Sr. and Reba Red Eagle Ogle on June 4, 1950 in Poplar, MT. He had a great life, he traveled to many places where he attended school. As a young boy he was chosen to attend summer school in Boston Massachusetts. He graduated from Poplar High School and went to Haskell Jr. College, he then attended BYU in Utah, from there he went to college in Hawaii, and came home and graduated from Glendive.
Abby worked for the Fort Peck Tribes most of his adult life. He helped bring a lot of grants to the tribes. One of his jobs was the Director of Community Services where he did many things working with the youth, he traveled all over the Fort Peck Reservation to the different communities having a movie night and snacks. He held camp outs and many other things. He also started the first ever youth basketball tournament called Poplar Youth Tournament, everyone called them the PYT's. This tournament ran for 35 years then Covid hit. He also was the Planning director for the tribes for many years, and he made the designs for the Fort Peck Tribal building, and the jail, the college and other buildings around the community which he talked about many times. Abby was an essential employee for the Fort Peck Tribes.
Abby served as Chairman of PCO, and he was part of Poplar Indian Days as the treasurer and at the time of his passing he was the lodge keeper for many years.
Abby enjoyed life. He helped raise two of his nieces, Launa and Markie, and five grandchildren, Kenny, Coy, Kayla, Wade and Braydan; he was very good to everyone. He loved playing machines, playing bingo, playing cards, being at family dinners, hanging out with his friends for many years. All his close friends whom he called brothers passed before him. He sure missed them.
Our mom passed away in 2020 and Abby's health started to fail, he was a bad diabetic, he ended up on dialysis, he lost part of his leg and then he lost the other one. But he still lived on until he succumbed to his illnesses. He will be greatly missed.
Abby leaves behind his brother, Elmer Andy Ogle; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mazie and Arnold Youngbird, Mary and Greg Plante, Judy Ogle and Arnie Bighorn, Shari Ogle all of Poplar, MT and Ronette Red Boy of Wolf Point, MT; his niece and grandchildren whom he helped raise, Launa, Kenny, Coy, Wade and Braydan; the rest of his nephews, Myron, Michael, Jason, John, Aaron, Louis, James, Lance, Daniel, Nikolas, Connor, Cameran, Trenton, Charles; nieces Stephanie, Lyssa, and Krysta; all his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He leaves behind his aunt and uncle Gloria and Robert Garcia from San Jose, CA and their family, his adopted brother Henri Headdress, adopted sisters Connie Thompson and Pauline Granbois, adopted brother and sister Charles and Saba Nolley and family, also cousin/aunt Pauline Boxer. Abby comes from a large family and has many relatives. His extended families are Ogle's from Canada, Red Eagle's, Goodwill's, Bighorn's, and many more whom he all loved. Please forgive us if we excluded anyone it was not intentional. Abby dearly loved all his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Reba Ogle; brothers Leonard "Oscar" Ogle, Lloyd "Slugger" Ogle; sister Jewel Ogle; nephews Morris "Robbie" Olson, Raymond Brown, William Ogle, Brandon Red Boy; nieces Markie Vondall, Whitney Ogle, and his granddaughter whom he raised Kayla Olson, and his extended family members.
Abby loved and cared for everyone. He always said he would never wish what happened to him to happen to anyone else. He will be greatly missed. Fly high brother, you are not confined anymore. You can move freely now. We know you are very happy in Heaven; you are with mom and dad and everyone else.
