Raymond Milton Pearson, 83, of North Vernon, passed away at 1:18 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at his residence.
Born October 17, 1940, in Jennings County, he was the son of the late Glen Emerson and Margaret (Driver) Pearson. He married Sharon Rowe on July 5, 1975, at the Methodist Church in North Vernon; she survives.
Raymond owned and operated Pearson Auto Body and Towing in North Vernon for 42 years. He had also worked for the former Jack Connaughton Chevrolet and Hershel Webster Chevrolet in North Vernon. He was a former member of the Jennings County Civil Defense and enjoyed bowling, going to boat and fishing.
Surviving with his wife, Sharon are his sons, Tim (Tina) Pearson and Matt (Jessica) Pearson, both of North Vernon; brother, John Pearson of North Vernon; mother-in-law, Ruby Rowe Spicer of North Vernon; grandchildren Maddy Pearson, and Josie Pearson, both of North Vernon, Troy (Mary) Matthews of Bloomington and Rick Davis of Franklin; and great-grandchildren, Emerson Paisley Robertson, Waylon Scott Pearson Johnson and Raylon Lee Pearson Johnson, all of North Vernon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Chad Ewin and Emerson Tracy Pearson; brothers, Kenneth, Paul William "Bill" and Howard "Fred" Pearson; and sisters, Agnes "Girt" Miller and Ruth Bird.
A funeral service for Raymond will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 29, 2024, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. W. Sherman Beville officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, March 28, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Burial will follow in the Baldwin Cemetery in Vernon.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home in honor of Raymond to Our Hospice of Jennings County.
