Mr. Raymond Dale Phillips, age 84, a resident of Belington, departed this life Wednesday evening September 10, 2025 in the comforts of his home. Death was following a period of declining health.

He was born August 13, 1941, at Barbour County, WV, a son of the late Raymond "John" and Martha Evelyn Jones Phillips. On July 29, 1966 at Oakland, Maryland, he was united in marriage to the former Janet Faye Talbott, who survives at their home in Belington.

Left to cherish his memory are two daughters; Michelle Morris and husband Thomas and Melissa Vaughan, four grandchildren; Kurt Morris and wife Anne, Jarrod Morris and fiancé Haley Shaffer, Amber Goodin and Shelby Vaughan, and one great-grandchild; Krispher Morris. Additional survivors include his sister; Dora Plymale, several sister-in-law's, dozens of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son; Everett B. Phillips and four brothers; James Phillips, Dwayne Phillips, Gary Phillips and Larry Phillips.

Raymond was a graduate from the Belington High School with the class of 1959. From the beginning of his adult journey, he proudly served his country in the US Army after being drafted. He chose to answer that call instead of attending college. After his service, he married Janet and together they had three children. He obtained his lifelong career as a meat cutter working for Shop-n-save and Foodland. As the years passed, both he and his wife were dedicated to the support of the Nazarene Church, being charter members of both the Fairmont Central Church of the Nazarene and later with Weston/ Valley View Church of the Nazarene. They also attended the Belington Nazarene Church. As he neared retirement he supported both Valley View and the Huttonsville Nazarene Church in pastoral commitment while they searched for permanent leadership. Turning to an office setting, he worked in medical billing for several years before retiring to his Barbour County home. He was a loving husband, father, and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family would like to sincerely thank the nurses and staff at the Louis A Johnson VA Medical Center and also the nurses and staff at Mountain Hospice for their compassionate care of our husband and father in his last days.

Raymond's request for cremation will be honored. There will be a celebration of life at the Belington Nazarene Church on September 28, 2025 at 3:00 pm with the Pastor Rick Stillwell officiating. Condolences can be made to the family at www.talbottfuneralhome.com. The Talbott Funeral Home in Belington is in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Raymond Dale Phillips.
