Raymond L. Phipps

Raymond Louis Phipp s, known as "Bill," a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, peacefully left us. Bill was born on October 22, 1955, in Emporia, Virginia, to Arthur Phipps (deceased) and Lessie Mae Phipps.

He was educated in the Greensville County Public School System and the Job Corps for Automotive and Machine Repair. Like his father and brother Jack, Bill loved repairing cars. He worked in several automotive shops in Virginia, including Phipps Auto and Welding Service with his brother, Jack. Later, he opened his own transmission business - Phipps Transmissions. He will be remembered for his passion for cars, trucks, hats, Southern Soul music, and a cold Heineken.

His brothers Arthur "Jack" and Roger "Sunt" Phipps preceded Bill in death.

Even as pain touches our hearts, we are uplifted by God's promise to wipe away every tear. Bill's presence was a light in our lives, and his memory inspires us. Our love remains immeasurable, while his passing leaves a quiet ache. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Lessie Mae Phipps; two children, Chris Mason of Lawrenceville, Virginia, and Tina Boone (Pondaza) of Grovetown, Georgia; two grandchildren, Camryn and August Boone, both of Grovetown, GA; three sisters, Mary Brown (Clyde), Cathy Stukes, and Kathyrn Brandon; and a very special friend, Tina Stith.

Most of his friends have passed away, but he cherished the time spent with Cedric Miles, Keith Phipps, the staff and residents of Trinity Woods and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

While we feel the loss deeply, we honor Bill's enduring spirit and cherish the memories he leaves with us. His life was a true gift, and his memory an inspiration. Our love for him is endless, and his presence will always be felt.
