Raymond was born in San Antonio, Texas and was the eldest child to Perfecto and Marcelina Reyna. He was the only son and was a wonderful brother to three sisters: Olivia, Guadalupe, and Rosa. Raymond attended Fox Tech high school. He earned his GED while enlisted in the National Guard. Raymond met his wife Juanita of 65 years while attending the Youth Group Club at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Raymond enlisted in the Army in 1958 and married Juanita on October 19, 1958. Shortly after, Raymond was sent to Korea. As a teenager, Raymond worked as a caddie at Brackenridge Park Golf Course. This helped him develop a passion for golfing. he joined the Pan American Golf Association where he became a life time member. Raymond was an Optician for many years and retired from Eye Masters in 1999 at the age of 65. By nature, Raymond was a quiet man. he was kind and caring; and truly loved his family and friends. he will be greatly missed. Raymond is preceded in death by his parents, and sister Guadalupe. He is survived by his bride Juanita, sons Raymond Jr., Richard (Eliza), daughter Patricia, and son Rene (Eva); grandsons; Rick, Cody, Ryan; and great grandson Warren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with a procession to depart the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. Interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery #2.
