Raymond R. Rushforth, Ray Rush, Papa Rush, 54, died surrounded by loved ones November 22, 2024, at Hackensack Meridian Medical Center. He was born February 5, 1970, in Jersey City, the son of William Rushforth and Nohora Rushforth (nee Rubiano).
Ray attended William Paterson University, St. Peter's Preparatory High School and the School of Visual Arts. He worked as a graphic artist and particularly enjoyed his time at MTV in the 90s. He was a talented artist who drew beautifully and working in many mediums creating new works until his last day.
Ray's passion for his work was unending but it paled in comparison to his love for his family and friends. He imparted his love of life to all he met.
Predeceased by grandparents, Sofia Ortiz, William J. Rushforth and Helen Nolan. In addition to his parents, he is survived by sister, Mary Ann Cannella (Raymond Cannella), brother, William Rushforth (Glenda Sarmiento), nieces and nephews, Melissa, Lauren Cannella, Aiden, Shane Rushforth.
