Raymond Allen Smith

Mr. Raymond Allen Smith, age 81 of the Four-Way-Inn community, died Monday, September 15 at Riverview Regional Medical Center. He is survived by: wife, Jody Smith; son, Chad Smith and wife Christie of the Four-Way-Inn community; Son-In-Law, Tracy White of the Four-Way-Inn community; 4 grandchildren. Loni Lynn Jones & Jared Johnson of Carthage, Chance Waller of Pleasant Shade, Payton Smith & Audri of Riddleton, Journee Smith of the Four-Way-Inn community; and 4 great-grandchildren, Hazel, Rylan, Keegan, and Deklan.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Holly Jane Smith White, who died on January 24, 2024 at the age of 52.

Mr. Smith is at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home where his service will be conducted on Thursday afternoon, September 18th at 1:00 PM. Eld. Kenny Hensley and Eld. Jeff Patterson will officiate and Bill Cothern will deliver the eulogy. Interment in Dixon Springs Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are: Jimmy Gregory, Ted Kemp, Phillip Hesson, Roy Kemp, Tracy White, Jared Johnson, Watt Hatfield, Daniel Duncan. Honorary pallbearers are: Class of 1962, Ray Gregory, Jeff Kemp, Wayne Cornwell, Wayne Gray Cornwell, Jimmy Smith.

Visitation at the Carthage Chapel on Wednesday, September 17th from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Thursday, September 18th from 11:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM.

The family has requested donations to the Honor The Dead; Feed The Living Food Fund, The Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church, or The Friendship Primitive Baptist Church.
