Raymond Lee Snow, 71, of Escanaba, passed away Monday morning, August 11, 2025 following a lengthy illness with his loving family at his side.

He was born on September 27, 1953 in Alexandria, VA, son of Howard Eugene and Patricia Ann (Downs) Snow. Ray was raised in Dunston, VA and graduated high school in Hayfield, VA. He served in the U.S. Marines until his honorable discharge.

On July 24, 1984, Raymond married the former Linda Wiersma in Ottawa County, MI. Ray was a southern gentleman who loved his wife dearly.

Ray drove truck for many years all over the United States, retiring due to health issues in 2007. He also drove taxi in Grand Rapids for a few years. In his younger years, Ray was a volunteer firefighter with the Lorton Volunteer Fire Department while his father, Howard Snow, was the fire chief.

Ray loved to be outside resting on his porch, fishing, feeding wild life, cookouts, and bird watching. During his trucking years, he loved traveling and seeing the country, especially the mountains in Virginia (Snow Mountains). Ray was an avid Detroit Lions fan and watched football as much as possible. He appreciated old cars, motorcycles, and trucks. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Among survivors include his wife, Linda Snow of Escanaba; children, Amber Snow (Kyle King), Krystal Snow, Amanda Snow (Sam Rivera), Erica Tascott (Jessica Tascott); grandchildren, Finnley Snow-King, Evan Bullen, Tristen Snow, and Samuel Rivera; siblings, Doug Snow, Mike Snow, Sherry Snow, Laurie Wood, and Kathy Slade; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of life will take place on his birthday.
