Raymond D. "Shep" Stanley, 96, of South Salem, passed 6:41 a.m. Thursday, June 15, 2023 at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born June 9, 1927 to the late John and Goldie (Rayburn) Stanley. On September 13, 1948 he married Frances Pauline Manuel who preceded him in death April 22, 1972. July 4, 1974 he married the late Cindy M. Ater, who passed on April 30, 2017.
Surviving are children, John (Janice) Stanley of Waverly, Leroy (Betty) Stanley of Waverly, Diane (Joe) Vickers of Marion, Cathy Stanley (Willard Price, fiancé) and Carl Stanley (Christina Whitley, fiancé'); 26 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren plus one on the way; brother, Ray Stanley of Chillicothe; and his two loyal companions, Angel and Queen. He was predeceased by son, Dwight Stanley; daughters, Nettie Woodruff, Mary Bullock and Helen Slutz; 3 great grandsons; brother Charles Stanley; sister, Mary C. Hopkins.
Raymond retired from R.L.S.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests, memorial contributions be made to WARE FUNERAL HOME 121 W. 2nd St., Chillicothe, OH 45601 to help with funeral arrangements.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Rick Hartley officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Township Cemetery. Friends and family may call from 5 – 8 p.m. on Monday, June 19.
