In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Sarah Elizabeth Sturgeon, Orlie Jean Sturgeon, Frances Wyatt Sturgeon, brothers, Roy Sturgeon, David Sturgeon, sons-in-law, Jake Bentley, D. Eugene David, and Donnie Cross.
Ray will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Betty Bentley, Nicholasville, Helen Cross, Lexington, Lisa Zornoza, California, sisters, Helen Crosthwaite, Sadieville, Angeline Smith, Lexington, Nellie Morrison, Versailles, grandchildren, Deeandra Teel, Heather Dalton, Jonathon David, Jessica Castillo, Donnie Cross, Jr., Travis Zornoza, Cochise Zornoza, and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Blackburn and Ward Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:30 am on Saturday, November 15, 2025, also at the funeral home, with Pastor Jason Shumate officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Frankfort.
Family and friends are encouraged to share memories and leave messages of condolence here on Ray's tribute wall.
