Alene Hatfield Kearns

Alene Hatfield Kearns, 97, widow of Neville Sandlin Kearns, passed away, Friday, November 14, 2025, at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington. She was born January 25, 1928, in Garrard County to the late Henry and Ada Lee Wheeler Hatfield. She was a homemaker and a farmer. She loved to work in her yard, always made sure the house was spotless, enjoyed shopping, but most important was that she was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Albert Hatfield, and Willy Mack Hatfield.
Alene will be lovingly remembered by her son, Larry (Joyce) Kearns, Versailles, grandchildren, Robin Kearns, Lexington, Regina Kearns, Mississippi, Michael (Amy) DeBorde, Springboro, Ohio, Melinda (Dwayne) Owsley, Richmond, 8 great grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Faith Baptist Church, 3692 Huntertown Road, Versailles, KY 40383, by Pastor Joe Collins. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the time of service. Burial will follow the service at Rose Crest Cemetery, where pallbearers will be Michael DeBorde, Dwayne Owsley, Kenny Way, Danny Toler, Pat Prather, and Ricky Mize. Memorial contributions are suggested to Faith Baptist Church, 3692 Huntertown Road, Versailles, KY 40383.
