Sara Lou Beasley Gray, 70, went to be with her lord and savior on Monday, November 17, 2025 at St. Joesph Hospital. Sara was born on May 4,1955 to the late Rev. William C. and Josephine Beasley. Sara is preceded in death by one sister Joyce Winn and sister-in-law JoAnn Anderson.
Sara gave her life to Christ at the early age of seven years old. She was baptized at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she served in the choir. She later joined First Baptist Stamping Ground to support her father. After the death of her father, Pastor William C. Beasley, she joined her son, Pastor Darrick Briscoe at First Baptist Danville. Sara served on the Missionary Board and sang when she was able. She was also known for her role as one of the old sisters in the Old Sister Skit performed by her and her sister JoAnn Brown. Sara was employed by Osram Sylvania where she was a dedicated worker and songbird for the employees. She was willing to serve with the gift God gave her at weddings, birthdays, and all other celebrations. Fellow employees were known to stop by her workstation just to hear her sing praises to The Lord. She retired after over 20 years of service. Sara leaves to cherish her memory her husband Garnett Gray, two precious children Rev. Dr. Darrick Briscoe (Tonya) and Clara "Tootie" Allen, her grandchildren Logan Powell, Tamia Jackson, Kendyl Powell, Kennedy Powell, and baby granddaughter Tamara Jackson Trujillo, her sisters JoAnn Brown and Sandra Beasley Lewis, brother-in-law Kenneth Anderson, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Homegoing Services will be conducted at 1:00pm on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Frist Baptist Church, Danville. Visitation will be 11:00, leading up to the time of the service. Interment will be on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 11:00am at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Friends and family are encouraged to leave messages of condolence on Sara's tribute wall at www.blackburnandward.com. Sara will be truly missed by her family and friends and as Thanksgiving is approaching, we are still looking for someone to fix the dressing.
