Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch

Raymond Sutherland, 80, of Olive Branch, MS passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025. Friends are invited to a visitation with the family on Friday, January 2, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch, MS. A funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m., also at Coleman Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Crosslawn Cemetery in Wynne, AR.

Raymond was born on June 17, 1945 in Hickory Ridge, AR. He was a member of First Baptist Collierville, TN. Ray was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Army. He loved restoring old cars and trucks. He worked as a judge at Riverside Speedway in West Memphis. Ray was a big teddy bear and cherished his family and neighbors. He loved sitting outside on the front porch with his friends just watching and listening to the rain. Ray was a very generous man and helped many people along the way. He will be missed by his family and many friends.

Left to cherish Ray's memory is his wife, Star Sutherland of Olive Branch, MS; daughter, Sherie Sutherland Burkeen (Jon) of Collierville, TN; sons, Charles Sutherland (Amanda Hill) of Cordova, TN and Jon Furr of Germantown, TN; grandson, Tucker Burkeen of Collierville; brothers, Larry Sutherland (Brenda) of Germantown, Ron Sutherland of Parsons, TN and Gary Sutherland (Cynda) of Wynne, AR.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Bessie and Oscar Sutherland; sisters, Lois Gaskin, Polly Poindexter and Francise Hess and brothers, Edward and Luke Sutherland.

In honor of Ray Sutherland's service to our country, the flag of the United States Army will be flown at Coleman Funeral Home on the day of the services.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Ray Sutherland to the Olive Branch Fire Department.
