Raymond Lee Uttinger, 81, of Springfield, MO, passed away peacefully at his home August 6, 2025.

Ray was born on February 1,1944, in Fort Scott, Kansas, to Claud and Mabel (Barnes) Uttinger. He married Peggy Secrest Davis April 22,1983, in Fort Scott, Kansas.

Ray spent the majority of his career in the trucking industry, beginning with Midwestern Distribution Fort Scott, Kansas, Prime Inc, Springfield, MO and later retired from Epic, Inc. Ray was not only known for his strong work ethic and dedication but for a smile and laugh that would light up the room. He was an enthusiastic hunter, fisher, NASCAR fan, who enjoyed tinkering in his shop, meticulously grooming his lawn, grilling, and countless home projects. He had a great sense of humor, loyalty to his family, and deep love for his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was immensely proud of his family and home.

Ray is survived by his wife, Peggy; daughters: Lisa (Brent) Neubauer, Toni (Rusty)Felt, Terri Manley, Cheryl (Dale) Gates, Sydnee Lowry; daughter-in-law: Tana Uttinger; grandchildren: Jerod (Tracie) Felt, Jordan (Kory)Harding, Nathan Uttinger, Trenton (Jacie) Uttinger, Colton Manley, Grayson Manley, Taylor Manley, Austin (Hallee) Manley; great- grandchildren: Brady Felt, Tucker Felt, Karoline Harding, Karrington Harding, Kinley Ballard, Mason Uttinger, Adalyn Uttinger, Ryan Austin, Laramee Manley, Ava Manley; sisters: Pat (Gerry) Rogers, Claudia (Don) Wheeler, and one brother Virgil (Faye) Uttinger; and mother-in- law: Helen Secrest.

Ray was preceded in death by his son, Jeffery Dean Uttinger; father-in-law, Carl W Secrest; and parents, Claude and Mabel Uttinger.

A Celebration of Life is planned for Friday, September 19, 2025, 4:00 PM at the Elks Lodge in Fort Scott, Kansas.

Care has been entrusted to Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, Ltd – DeGraffenreid-Wood Crematory, Springfield, Missouri.
