Raymond Yoder, 80, of Loogootee, Indiana, passed away at his home on Thursday, January 23rd, 2025. Born on January 7, 1945, in Nappanee, Indiana, he was the beloved son of the late Eli and Drusilla (Gerber) Yoder.
Raymond shared a loving marriage with his wife, LeAnna Yoder, whom he married on June 26, 1965. Together, they built a life filled with love and cherished memories. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, survived by his wife LeAnna, his children Bronson Yoder and Jennifer (Tony) Yoder-Chestnut, both residing in Loogootee, and his grandchildren Jazmyn Yoder, Jociah Earl (Sarah Riker), Devyn Earl, and Tanner Earl. He also leaves behind 10 great-grandchildren.
Raymond was a man of simple pleasures, finding joy in tending to his farm animals and working in his garden. He had a passion for fishing and racing horses, activities that brought him great happiness throughout his life.
He is also survived by his siblings, Inez Yoder, Eli Yoder, Tressie Slaubaugh, Esther (Ken) Bush, Howard Yoder, Martha Graber, and Fred (Annie) Yoder, as well as sisters-in-law Helen Yoder and Mary Catherine Yoder. He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandson Austyn Yoder, his siblings Lyle Yoder, Glenn (Lizzy) Yoder, May (Amzie) Yoder, and Lester Yoder, and his brothers-in-law Harley Yoder, Alan Slaubaugh, Merv Graber, and sisters-in-law Nicole Yoder and Jane Yoder.
A funeral service to honor Raymond's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 29th, 2025, at Providence Mennonite Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 28th, 2025, at the church.
