Rayneil "Bud" Synsteby, 78, went to be with Jesus on May 26, 2025, surrounded by his wife, children, and close friends.
Born on October 24, 1946, in Seattle, WA, Bud was the son of Pauline and Elmer Synsteby. He married Mary Geiger on April 17, 1993, in Edmonds, WA, enjoyed 32+ years of marriage with Bud and his 3 children Eric, Micah and Dandy.
Bud dedicated 34 years to a career in the waste management industry, proudly referring to himself as a "Garbologist." He held various roles throughout his career, retiring in 2002 as a roll-off driver for Waste Management in Seattle.
A passionate restorer, Bud found joy in bringing new life to vintage gas pumps, classic cars, and jukeboxes. He often said he lived during the best of times-the 1960s. In later years, he developed a love for collecting vintage toy trucks, including brands like Tonka and Buddy L.
Bud and Mary enjoyed traveling and spent many winters in Yuma, AZ, where they formed lasting friendships. Above all, Bud cherished time with his children and grandchildren. Known for his wit and deep affection for animals, he especially loved the many cats he and Mary cared for over the years.
Bud is survived by his beloved wife, Mary G. Synsteby; sons Micah (Christy) and Dandy (Kimi); and five grandchildren: Gage, Skyler, Oden, Christian, and Gracie. He was preceded in death by his son Eric Synsteby, parents Elmer and Pauline Synsteby, and brother Darrel Brown.
