Raysa A. Vidal was born on August 24, 1959, to Jose Vidal and Evarista Arache in the Dominican Republic. She was the second-born daughter and, from a young age, was an absolute firecracker. From rooftop-hopping and tree-climbing adventures in her adolescent years, Raysa never showed fear in living her life to the fullest.
In 1970, she arrived in the United States with her older sister in pursuit of the American dream. Her desire, love, and passion in everything she did were deeply rooted in the hardworking family who served as her foundation for success.
Raysa loved to sing, dance, eat, and shop at thrift stores. She found joy in worshipping the Lord, was generous to those in need, and always offered an open ear to those seeking solace. With a heart of gold, she touched countless lives. A bold and courageous daughter of God, Raysa embraced life without fear-whether it was jumping out of planes, trying new things, or speaking her mind despite her broken English. As she often said: "Hello! Live, love, laugh."
Raysa is survived by her loving husband, Michael Kearins; her two sons, Juan and George Peralta; her mother, Evarista Arache; her sister, Gladys Vidal; her five grandchildren, Jeanely, Serenity, Jasayra, Juan, and Catalina; her niece and nephew, Jennifer and Manauris Mejia; and an endless circle of family, loved ones, and friends.
This is not goodbye-this is until we meet again.
