A graveside service will follow at Magnolia Cemetery, 6950 Tulip Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 19135 at 11:30am. Thank you It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Razia Bashir, a dedicated mother, humble sister, and resilient friend, on August 4, 2025. Born in Madyala, Punjab on June 10, 1956, Razia was a beacon of strength, courage, and selfless devotion. As Helen Keller once said, "Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experiences of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved." This quote encapsulates the essence of Razia's journey from a single mother of two young boys in Pakistan to a revered matriarch in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Razia was a woman of unwavering faith and fortitude. She turned adversities into opportunities, demonstrating remarkable resilience in the face of life's trials. Razia's work ethic was as steadfast as her faith; she served with dedication as a maintenance worker for the Pakistan Railways and took on additional jobs to provide for her family. Her humble beginnings did not limit her aspirations for her children, Aaron and Shamoon. She poured every ounce of her strength into their upbringing, shaping them into the successful individuals they are today. Razia's courage and resilience are her legacy, reflected in the achievements of her sons and the family she nurtured. In her memory, we remember not just Razia's trials, but also her joys. She found happiness in the simplicity of life, whether it was singing psalms, preparing a delicious meal, or simply spending time with her loved ones. Her laughter was infectious, her wisdom was profound, and her love was boundless. To quote Maya Angelou, "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Razia's warmth and compassion left an indelible mark on the hearts of everyone she encountered. Razia leaves behind her sons, Aaron Bashir and Shamoon Masih, her daughters-in-law, Saima Bashir and Amber Shamoon, her grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends who were deeply touched by her life. She is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Masih and Bibi Samuel. We invite you to share your memories of Razia and upload photos to her memorial page.
