Reba Joyce Pearson

Reba Joyce (Harman) Pearson, 90, of McAlester, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2026, in Greenwood, Arkansas.

Viewing will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at the Bishop Chapel of Memories, officiated by Rev. Heather Beard. Cremation will follow.

Joyce was born on January 21, 1936, in Tipton, Oklahoma, to Clarence and Ethel (Courtney) Harman. She was raised in Hagerman, New Mexico.

She married Guy Pearson on October 5, 1952, in Roswell, New Mexico. They shared 64 years of marriage before his passing in 2016.

Joyce was a hardworking woman who held various positions throughout her life. She worked at Ideal Food Store in Pampa, Texas, as a seamstress for Elsings, and served as a shop steward for Humpty-Dumpty Grocery Store in McAlester. She also worked for a time with Norma Stokes at her dress shop in McAlester.

Known for her kind and gentle spirit, Joyce deeply loved her family and friends. She was an excellent cook, and no one ever left her home hungry. She also had a special place in her heart for animals and was known for feeding the neighborhood cats.

In her spare time, Joyce enjoyed sewing and visiting casinos.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Ethel Harman; her husband, Guy Pearson; her grandson, Jared Pearson; and eleven siblings.

Joyce is survived by her sons, Mike Pearson and wife Teresa of McAlester, and Larry Pearson and wife Misty of Greenwood, Arkansas; her grandchildren, Heather Beard and husband Chris, Audra Klink and husband Jeremy, Megan Pearson, Jeff Pearson and wife Ashley, Chelsie Onderdonck and fiancé Lance Parent, and Cassidy McCurdy; her great-grandchildren, Alexia Pearson, Katelyn Pearson, Corwyn Beard, Maryn Beard, Allasyn Beard, Ella Klink, Logan Onderdonck, Lillyanna Parent, Devyn Veal and partner Melody Oswald, Dylan Veal, Brendle McCurdy, Addy Pearson, and Easton Pearson; her great-great-grandchild, Annabelle Oswald; her brother, Charles Harman; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
