Rebecca Kay Calix, 64, passed away at IU Health University Hospital on February 2, 2025. She was the daughter of Robert Yeager and Sandra Robertson, born in Streator, IL on September 16, 1960.
Becky worked a dedicated career as a Dietary Cook at Pilgrim Manor. Her passion for cooking carried through to her home where she always gathered her family for a meal at the end of the day. Some of her favorite dishes from her family were Chicken and Noodles, Chicken and Dumplings, Potato Soup, or her famous fudge.
A classy lady at heart, Becky was always put together by having her hair and makeup done, along with a freshly painted set of nails to match her outfit that day and a splash of her favorite perfume. Her put together style extended to her home where she kept it in immaculate condition.
In her free time, Becky enjoyed doing various crafts including making wreaths and swags at the holidays. Christmas time was always made special by Becky; often making sacrifices for herself to provide for her family.
Becky was reunited with her High School Sweetheart, Dennis Johnson, in 2017. They were married in Plymouth on December 27, 2017. He preceded her in death on January 3, 2022.
Becky’s favorite role as a mother became even more special when she gained the title of grandmother. She was the best grandma and cherished the memories made with her family. Being kind and having good morals were traits that Becky embodied and instilled in her children.
Becky will be dearly missed by her mother, Sandra Hjerpe; children, Terah Martin, Amber (Fidel) Dominguez, Brittany Goorhouse-Harper, Nichole Yeager, and Dustin Goorhouse; 21 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; siblings, Regina and Ramona; and her kitties, Tippy and Bella, also known as “Wa-Wa.”
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Johnson; father, Robert Yeager; and brother, Robert.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions can be directed to Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth, IN 46563 towards Becky’s funeral expenses.
