Rebecca Hughes Clark Ferguson, 54, of Marion, passed away Monday, May 29, 2023, at Mission Memorial Hospital in Asheville.
Rebecca was born in McDowell County, NC on November 5, 1968, to the late Connie Cagle and James Everette Hughes. Rebecca was a nurse who devoted her entire life to the service of others. She was known to be very giving to anyone in need. She enjoyed painting and crafts and organizing outdoor picnics. Most of all, Rebecca loved her family and spending time with her granddaughter. She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, Rebecca was preceded in death by a sister, Angela Hughes.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Nicky Ferguson; three children, Matthew Loftis (Jessica), Danielle Clark, and Hunter Clark; a step mother, Joyce Hughes Hatton; a sister, Kathy Dalton; two brothers, James Hughes, II (Angie) and Phillip Hughes (Melissa); a step sister, Betty Ann Robinson (Robby); a half brother, Jeffrey Hughes (Amanda); a half sister, Kristy Lackey (Jason); two grandchildren, Eva Loftis and Ella Loftis; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, June 4, 2023 at the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. Pastor Johnny Hall will officiate. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
