Rebecca Jean Hook

Rebecca "Becky" Hook, 82, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024. Becky was born in 1942 in Wichita, Kansas to parents Kathleen and Joe Roberson. Becky grew up, and graduated from Tyrone High School in Tyrone, Oklahoma. After graduation from high school, she attended the Oklahoma College for Women, and completed her studies as a speech therapist.

Becky began her career as a classroom teacher for the Adams, Oklahoma and Liberal, Kansas school districts. After several years of being a classroom teacher she transitioned into providing speech therapy to the following school districts: Liberal, Kansas; El Dorado, Kansas; Salina, Kansas; Enid, Oklahoma; Kremlin, Oklahoma; and Wichita, Kansas. In total, Becky taught for 47 years, and loved each child she worked with as her own.

Outside of work, Becky loved playing the organ, and played for many weddings and funerals. She particularly favored music from the 1940s. Becky also loved sports. She was always a big supporter of the sports teams her boys were a part of, and she always made sure to be near a tv whenever the Oklahoma Sooners were playing (especially during football season).

Most importantly though, Becky loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family dearly. Becky's main goal in life was to make sure that everybody she met knew Jesus.

Visitation with family and friends will be from 5:00-7:00pm, Wednesday, July 31, at the Cozine Life Events Center in Wichita, Kansas. A graveside service celebrating Becky's life will be at the Tyrone Cemetery in Tyrone, Oklahoma at 1:00pm, Friday, August 2, 2024.

Becky is preceded in death by her father, Joe Roberson; mother and stepfather, Kathleen and Dale Stevens; and granddaughter, Madelyn Rebeka. She is survived by her loving husband, Ausbie Hook; sons and daughters-in-law, Todd and Leilani Hook, and Kyle and Rashelle Hook; grandson, Bradley; brother and sister-in-law, Garvin and Stephanie Stevens.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, as a way to honor Becky's wish to further the Kingdom of God by making donations to help those in need through your church or organizations in your community in her name.
