Rebecca Faye Nolan
(March 6, 1946 - July 14, 2025)
Rebecca Faye Nolan, known as "Becky," to family and friends was born on March 6, 1946, in Monroe, Louisiana to Ollie Nolan, Jr. and Angie Sharp Nolan of the Rocky Branch Community in Union Parish, and died on July 14,2025,5 at her home in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Becky grew up in Rocky Branch and graduated from Farmerville High School in 1964. After graduation, she obtained a bachelor's degree in business from Northeast Louisiana State College in Monroe (now ULM). After graduating, she enlisted in the United States Marine
Corps, where she rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel before transferring to the Army
Reserves. She went on to earn a master's degree in psychology from the University of Louisiana at Monroe and later pursued a Ph.D. in Psychology at Texas A&M University. Upon receiving her doctorate, she became a full-time professor at Louisiana State University in Shreveport, where she also served a term as Chair of the Psychology Department. While teaching at LSUS, she continued her education by obtaining a Medical Psychology Advanced Practice (MPAP) Certification followed by her Medical Psychologist (MP) Certification in 2015. She retired from university in 2018. She was a member of the State Medical Psychology Association and served a term as President.
Becky thoroughly enjoyed her private practice. At age 79, she continued to see patients as well as perform evaluations for the Medicaid Program. It must be said that she could not have maintained such a schedule without the invaluable support of her multi-talented office manager, Helen King, whose dedication and friendship meant so much to her.
Becky was an avid reader, enjoyed family gatherings, and attending broadway performances at the Strand Theater.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie Nolan Jr. and Angie Nolan.
She is survived by her sister, Ann Nolan Standley, and husband, Jimmy, her nephew, Scott
Tucker, and wife, Marie; her nieces, Michelle Standley Martin and husband, Mickey, and Ashley
Standley Kanak and husband, Kevin; her great-nieces, Sabrina Martin Wheat and husband, Tyler, Cassie Tucker, and Cara Tucker; her great-nephew, Patton Kanak; and her great-great-niece, Henley Wheat.
Becky had a giving heart. She was a contributor to 20 different animal and wilderness organizations, and six other charities that were important to her. In lieu of flowers, please donate to any charity organization or church of your choice.
The memorial service for Becky will be held Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Aulds Funeral Home on East Kings Highway in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Kathy and I are leaning heavy on our faith as we grieve your passing.
We ask our lord to guide us through this time as we so valued every minute you spent with us.
Never has one person meant so much to the both of us. Dear lord we ask that Dr. Nolans wisdom guide us through the rest of our time here on this earth until we meet again in heaven. Amen.
