Rebecca Vanmeter October 20, 1977 – August 19, 2025 Rebecca Vanmeter, age 47, of Uvalde, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025. She was born on October 20, 1977, in Westminster, California, to Diego Cardona Jr. and Elizabeth Pitcher. Rebecca was a daughter, loving mother, proud grandmother, and a Christian. A homemaker at heart, she found great joy in caring for her family. She loved to sing, color, cook, and spend quality time with her loved ones-especially her cherished grandchildren, with whom she shared countless special moments. She is survived by her parents, Diego and Elizabeth; her three children: Destiny Vanmeter and husband Ricky, Joseph Vanmeter and companion Felicia, and Jaydyn Vanmeter-all of Uvalde; and her twelve beloved grandchildren who brought endless happiness into her life. Rebecca is preceded in death by her son, John Duane Vanmeter; her grandfather, Diego Cardona Sr.; and her aunt, Mary Lou Vasquez. A visitation will be held Friday, August 29, 2025 from 12:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home, Chapel of Serenity, A funeral service is set for 11:00 A.M, Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home, 424 Geraldine St. Uvalde, Tx 78801 Cremation is under the direction of Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home Her warmth, creativity, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
