Rebetha Mae Sapp
April 16, 1942 – September 15, 2025
Rebetha Mae Sapp, 83, of Upland, California, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2025, to be with her Lord.
Rebetha was born in Yazoo City, Mississippi, to Homer and Vida Blake Hearst. Rebetha was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was known for her unwavering devotion as a wife, mother, grandmother, and neighbor. Her greatest accomplishments were rooted in her role as a provider, homemaker, and caretaker. She created countless opportunities for her children and grandchildren to pursue their goals and dreams.
Rebetha married the love of her life, Jerry L. Sapp on April 6, 1962, and in 1966, they moved to Pomona, California, in search of greater prosperity.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Vida Blake Hearst, husband Jerry L. Sapp, son Gregory Alex Sapp, daughter Dana Yvonne Sapp, sister Janet Wright, brothers Hollis Hearst, Daniel Hearst, Dalton Hearst, and John Hearst.
She is survived by her son Jerry "Jey" Alan Sapp (Misty), grandchildren Dillon Jerry Sapp (Brooks) and Kayla Johanna Sapp (Taylor), and her brother Arnold Hearst.
Rebetha will be remembered for her strength, generosity, and the love she poured into her family and community.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, starting at 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service begins at 11:00 a.m. in the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, Mississippi. Following the funeral service, a graveside will be held at Quiet Ridge Cemetery in Pickens, Mississippi (Holmes County).
