Reed Allan Farrell

Reed Allan Farrell, age 79, of Conover, WI passed away peacefully running to meet the Lord at his home on December 13, 2025. He was born May 17, 1946 in Rhinelander, WI to Leslie and Marian Farrell.
He grew up in Eagle River and Texas. Reed served 3 years is the U.S. Marine Corps as Lance Corporal during the Vietnam War. "Semper Fidelis"
He married Lucy Hansen on February 7, 1970 in Eagle River, WI. In 1974 they moved to Conover where they have lived for 52 years. During this time Reed worked at the Vilas County Courthouse as custodian for almost 30 years.
Reed had an awesome voice and loved to sing and sang many a song with his wife Lucy. He sang with the Lewis Kids and made a record.
He loved to ice fish with his mom, kids and wife. He would deer hunt and did a lot of camping and finding rocks. He loved to plant a garden which grew mostly potatoes. He loved planting trees and then cutting them down to use the wood is heat his home.
Reed is survived by his wife of 56 years: Lucy; daughter: Day (Josh) McCrary; grandchildren: Stephanie (John Paul) Prekett, Joey Godec, Samantha (Zack) Naumin, Dayna (Deandri) Brewton, Drew McCrary, Jason McCrary; great grandchildren: Merik Nauman, Abigal and Anna Marie Godec, Diliza and Divani Brewton. He was preceded in death by his son: Forest Farrell Sept 15, 2025, brother: Kenny Farrell; parents: Leslie and Marian Farrell; grandparents Lester and Irene Farrell and Art and Clare Anderson.
Reed will be remembered by his love for wanting to be with the Lord. Always "One Day Closer" and also that ALL is Wonderful.
A memorial service will be at 10am on Saturday January 31, 2026 at the Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River, WI. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
