Refugio "Roy" Martinez Villa, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, passed away on November 29, 2023, in his hometown of Tucson, Arizona. He was born on July 4, 1940, in Tucson to Jose and Maria Villa.

Roy's journey in life was marked by hard work, dedication to family, and an unwavering spirit. He attended Tucson High School. Alongside his brother Jose, Roy built numerous beautiful homes in Tucson as a skilled partner in the construction industry. Later on, he discovered a new passion for landscaping and embraced it as a second career.

Described as funny and the life of the party, Roy had a gift for captivating those around him with his mesmerizing life stories. He had an incredible ability to make everyone feel welcome and cherished. Whether it was offering a lending ear or providing support during difficult times, Roy never hesitated to be there for his loved ones.

A kind and generous soul, Roy was always willing to lend a helping hand. Despite his tough exterior, he possessed a heart that knew no boundaries when it came to giving. He would readily give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.

Roy's family meant everything to him; they were undoubtedly his proudest accomplishment. He leaves daughter Eleanor Subia (David), as well as his cherished grandchildren Carmen Lancaster (Jacob), Robert Ellison (Corina), Olivia Villa, and Garrett Villa. His legacy also extends to his great-grandchildren Shelby Lopez, Anthony Lopez, Gabriel Lancaster, Andrea Ellison, and Sophia Ellison.

In addition to his immediate family members who mourn his loss deeply are Roy's surviving siblings: brother Jose Villa (Irma) and sister Gloria Romo (Alberto). He is also remembered and missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his daughter-in-law Krystal Villa-Bordieu.
He is now reunited with his loving wife Connie Villa and their sons Mark and Louie Villa,

Roy's hobbies and interests symbolized his zest for life. He enjoyed spending time at the horse races, proudly watching his son race. Nascar races, football games, and rodeos were among the events that brought him great joy.

The passing of Roy Villa leaves a profound void in the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing him. Although heartbroken, his family finds solace in the memories they shared with him, knowing that he has left an indelible mark on their hearts.

Roy Villa's legacy will continue to inspire generations to come as they strive to embody his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for family and friends.

May Roy rest in eternal peace, forever remembered as a remarkable man who brightened the lives of all those fortunate enough to have known him.
