Regina Lynne Marrs Craig, 47, of Charlottesville, died Friday, May 13, 2011. Born May 4, 1964 in Charlottesville, she was the daughter of Faye Hurley Marrs and the late James “Jack� Marrs. Regina was currently employed as the parent coordinator at Care Connection for Children and was the coordinator for Virginia Guide By Your Side Program for the Department of Health and Human Services. Both programs deal with children that have special health needs. She had such love and devotion for these programs and her sincere compassion was felt by all the families that she touched.The special needs families of the Commonwealth have lost a great advocator and friend. In addition to her mother, she is survived by one daughter, Sarah Craig and her father David E. Craig; one stepson, Jeremy Craig; one granddaughter, Emmalynne Craig; two brothers, David Jackson Marrs and James Ivoe Marrs and his wife Patricia; two nephews, James Cody Marrs and James David Marrs; one niece, Ashlyn Marrs; two uncles, George L. Rogers and Leonard W. Rogers; one aunt, Barbara Hensley; and one great nephew, Chase Coffey. A memorial service will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at the Teague Funeral Home. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2011 at the Teague Funeral Home. The family would like to thank Hospice of the Piedmont and the staff of the UVA Cancer Center for the compassion and care provided to Regina. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Pkwy, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911.
