CHELSEA/LYNNFIELD - Regina A. Peters (Walata), age 88, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2025, at her home in Lynnfield. She was born in Chelsea on February 23, 1937, the daughter of the late Walter Walata Sr. and Mary Walata.

Regina is survived by and will be lovingly missed by her two children: Cenia Peters and Albert Peters, and his wife, Margaret Peters all in Lynnfield. She is a loving grandmother to four Grandchildren: Ally Caroline Peters, Berk Rosenwald, Blake Peters, and Lanah Belle Rosenwald. Besides her parents she is predeceased by her brothers, Walter Walata and Edward Walata. She is also remembered by her niece and nephew: Mark Walata and his wife, Michelle Mckenna Walata, Cathy Walata Surette and her husband, Joseph Surette, and grandnephew Kristopher Surette with his wife, Kelly Megan Surette, and their two young daughters.

Regina proudly graduated from Chelsea High School. She earned an undergraduate degree in Education from Boston University, then her Master's in Special Education/Remedial Reading. In her early years, she traveled and taught in Germany and Switzerland. She dedicated her life to raising her children in Chelsea with the support and guidance of her mother Mary and her brother Walter. All while under her vocation of teaching.

Post retirement. Regina devoted her life to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling and playing Bridge and Mahjong with her lifelong friends. She treasured watching her grandchildren play sports and attended many musical plays joined by the close knit community in Lynnfield. Her kindness and generosity were evident in every aspect of her life. Regina's love for shopping took her on many Costco runs, delivering croissants, rotisserie chicken, and fresh fruits directly to her children's homes. In return, Regina's children, Cen and Al unconditionally devoted their lives to her care until her peaceful passing.

Her memorial service will be held privately by her family. To share a memory or offer condolences, please visit our guest book. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Regina's parish - St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church 112 Chestnut St, Lynnfield, MA. 01940
